Back Pain
Background
Gerry says he has had lower back pain since his late 30's.
All the doctors could say was, "you're getting older," and other such
non-committal statements. X-rays did not show anything at the time. Around 1999,
there was a commercial on TV for Tylenol Arthritis, so Gerry bought a bottle and
tried it. It worked so well, that arthritis was the obvious self-diagnosis. So
for years the combination Ibuprofen and Tylenol Arthritis were the pain
management tools to control lower back pain.
In December 2003, as part of my physical, x-rays were taken.
Two problems became evident from those x-rays:
Spondylosis (Spinal Osteoarthritis) and
Disc Space Narrowing.
Between the two problems, it's no wonder I've been in severe pain at times.
