A Weed Among the Roses in Your Life

Along life's path there comes a time,
Where weeds invade and now is mine.
I was sad and oh so blue,
When I looked to the heavens in search of you.
Father are you listening to my pleas?
Can you hear me?
Is it true?
Is my life on this earth almost through?
I have so much more living to do...

That's when you reached from heaven above,
Down to me in your infinite love.
You said be still my child,
For I'm not done.
Am I not the creator of that sun?
Look up again and see it set.
For I am not through with you yet.
See the colors bright orange hues,
Purples pinks swirled in there too.
Now turn and look upon that rose,
And see it beauty as it grows.
I put it special for you there!
And framed it with a weed to show I care.
For in this life there are ups and downs.
Weeds among roses will be found.

But I promise peace, and it will abound.
I sent it many years ago.
When I sent my rose among the weeds.
He paid the price and will see to your needs.
So be still my dear heart, take peace and know,
Among those weeds a rose will forever grow.

I love you,

Dad.
